Pompano Beach Fishing Village

The Pompano Beach Municipal Pier parking lot is now well into the process of being transformed into the Pompano Beach Fishing Village. The new Pompano Beach Fishing Village will be located on the current site of the municipal pier parking lot located between A1A and Pompano Beach Boulevard and between NE 2nd and NE 3rd St. The first phase of construction is now complete with a 610 space 4-level parking garage and 7,000 square feet of ground floor retail space. The new garage is a very attractive, modern architectural design resembling sails on the roof and be located on the northwest corner of the site.

The Pompano Beach Fishing Village plan also includes the east beachfront side of Pompano Beach Boulevard where some of the new restaurants will be directly on the beach with oceanfront views.

The current site of the municipal pier parking lot will be split amongst 3 parcels with the Northwest parcel containing the parking garage in the space of the old firehouse and the East parcel to be developed directly on the beach. The pier project is expected to be fully open for business in fall 2017.

Additionally a tree-lined boulevard walkway will be constructed and renamed Pier Street providing an attractive passageway for pedestrians coming from the intracoastal waterway. There will be a water taxi dock built next to the park on the intracoastal side to enable boaters to easily come to the new fishing village. This will be a unique feature allowing pedestrians to walk directly and easily from the intracoastal to to the Atlantic Ocean.

This project will positively transform and re-invigorate the neighboring area and Pompano Beach residents will soon have an exciting new beachfront destination to enjoy restaurants, shopping and more just steps away.
